TBM Camp Builders were at Highland Lakes in November 2000. This was the only job for November and 25 volunteers came, all but 3 with wives. We were the first to use their new RV park located just inside the camp entrance to the left. It rained a lot while we were there and the newly graded spaces were quite muddy.

The work included remodeling a small building with 4 sleeping rooms and 4 baths into 2 one bedroom apartments; Installing a new metal roof on the large L-shaped motel facility across the street from the camp office; Tape and bed, paint and install doors and trim in a small new house that was being completed.

The camp is located on two miles of lakefront on Lake Travis. The camp has a full range of land and water activities along with full conference facilities. To reach the camp, West of Austin on highway 71 turn North onto Farm Road 2322. There will be a Chevron station at the intersection and it is about 8 miles East of Spicewood. Go northeast through Pace Bend County Park to the camp (it will be several miles). At the Pace Bend Park gate tell the attendant that you are going to Highland Lakes and there will be no charge.
